About This Sculpture

Luo Xiaoping's design uses a comprehensive approach. Under normal conditions, The kinetic water drops stainless steel sculpture relies on natural wind power transmission. If there is a special need, it can also be driven by a motor. The completed kinetic steel water drop is an elliptical stainless steel sphere with a height of 6 meters and a width of 9 meters. Its shape consists of 5000 flashing stainless steel blades. It is set in a pool. When the breeze blows, the sensitive blades will shake from time to time. And blinking, like countless stars, blinking, and like countless raindrops falling on the water's surface ... Although the blades are made of stainless steel, due to the different angles of each blade when it is shaking, the refraction scene and light are not the same, making the whole sculpture produce a rich color change. In addition to the natural wind, when it uses mechanical transmission, its flickering amplitude, and changes will be more and more abundant.

In terms of artistic characteristics, this kinetic artwork has a simple and peaceful overall form and rich and vivid details. Its movements and quietness complement each other; it changes the sunny and rainy weather, the sunset and twilight, and the bright lights of all the people in the world.
