About this Artwork
The entire Chinese Landscape No. 4 is full of the artist's subjective aesthetic image. He spliced and transformed classical Chinese elements such as plum branches, screens, and modern industrial pipes to create a surreal landscape.
This work is not only an iceberg formed by the melting of snow and ice but also huge antlers. The stainless steel material with a sense of science and technology is used to represent the symbols of traditional Chinese culture. Its smooth curved surfaces and smooth lines not only reflect a sense of precision but also relieve tension and coldness. The polished stainless steel reflects the image of the surrounding environment. It shows that modern civilization is full of mechanical apathy and technological arbitrariness.
This is a graphical exploration of my reconstruction and renaissance of history and culture, trying to broaden the linguistic boundaries of sculpture creation so that traditional elements are full of contemporary and futuristic. In Chen Wenling's view, linking cultural concepts with historical consciousness does not directly refer to phenomena and events in the real world, but emphasizes the spiritual reliance and humanistic care that he cares about.
